The course teaches non-professional investors the tools and the knowledge you need to take control of how your wealth is managed and invested.

No Prior Knowledge

The course starts from the beginning and moves quickly to cover all the essentials of investing, without being overly complicated or mathematical.


About Dr Sam Wylie

Dr Sam Wylie is Director of Windlestone Education and an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Melbourne, winning Melbourne Business School’s Teaching Excellence Award nine times.

Sam’s research and consulting is focused on banking, wealth management and the Global Financial Crisis (GFC). As well as publishing a regular finance Newsletter, his commentary appears in the Australian Financial Review and on national radio and television.

Course structure

Finance Education for Investors consists of 24 hours of classes, delivered over 4 weeks. The Free Introductory Session provides a preview of the course material and an opportunity to ask Sam any questions before enrolling.

Melbourne Course

Date: 26 October – 7 December
Time: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Location: Melbourne Business School, Carlton
Cost: $1120 +GST ($1790 +GST for couples)

Classes are held over 4 Saturdays (26 October, 9 & 23 November, and 7 December), with short breaks for morning and afternoon tea, and a lunch hour.

Date: Saturday 12 October
Time: 9:30am – 11:00am

Perth Course

Date: 2 November – 14 December
Time: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Location: University of Western Australia, Crawley
Cost: $1120 +GST ($1790 +GST for couples)

Classes are held over 4 Saturdays (2, 16 & 30 November, and 14 December), with short breaks for morning and afternoon tea, and a lunch hour.
